Trilarion: Probably being an Indie developer one is always one unlucky release away from going under. $15/$20 is the generally accepted price range, $25 seems to be just a significant amount above (although objectively it isn't really) which might have made a difference for some. 4x means something like MoO or GalCiv to me and although I try to be open about new developments claiming to do it better, I usually get disappointed.Īlso I could have told the publishers/devs that $25 is slightly above the psychologically nice pricing zone for ambitious Indie games. So not enough people know of it and that in return does not generate enough buzz so that not enough people can hear about it. SR2 looks like a quite good game (similar to SOSE) which unfortunately does not have the bigger marketing budget of SOSE and comes a bit too late for the indie boom of 2012-2014. It's always sad to hear that a dev is close to shutdown.
